My child has been training with Activ8 since the age of 7 and has ASD ADHD and other medical issues and I would trust them 100% . I took my child out of school at the age of 14 and Activ8 has helped with mental health confidence and now my child is doing an NVQ with them .The team are very friendly and have understanding of all children with special needs and adapt moves to the required needs couldn’t recommend them enough and thank them for the help and support they have given my child .
Been with this company for around 4 years, the team are always willing to cater to any specific needs regarding training and ensure injury’s are made aware of. All of the instructors have a good mind set and are focused in proving the best service to everyone that goes would deffodefin recommend to anyone who would like to take up a martial
My children (7 and 11) have been going to Carnforth self-defence/Jujitsu for several years now and are really enjoying it- I can’t recommend Sensei Rachel (at the Carnforth hub) enough; she’s absolutely brilliant with the kids.

What We Offer:
We started wth 6 members and 2 fighters. As of September 2019 we have fast approaching 50 members and 10 fighters. We’ve expanded so much that we’ve taken the decision to source and kit out our own unit.At TMT we are “in it for the people”, and we are “all in this together”, regardless of age, ability, gender, orientation and/or social/economic backgrounds (to name a few) We cater for all needs from fitness, to fun ,to fighters. We accept all abilities from complete beginners to fighters. We regularly hold and attend Seminars, Open Spars, Interclubs, Courses & more, to keep our staff & volunteers up to date.

Fantastic place , very welcoming to all abilities and need . Highly recommend.
This place is amazing! Great trainers who know what they’re on about. One is a RN and the other is a fully qualified first aider. I’ve never known a better gym in the Lancaster and morecambe area. I suffer with anxiety and depression and they cater for that and understand. The gym caters for everyone. All abilities, all sizes and even from as young as 4 years old. They even do 1-2-1 sessions if you don’t want to join a specific class. I’d recommend this gym 1000% there’s no one better.
I have to say that this Muay Thai gym is the best in area. It’s fully equipped , coaches are awesome and friendly. They show everything step by step making sure you get it. They work on building your basics and fundamental up. At the end of each lesson there is sparring which I enjoy because it puts everything you know under pressure. They also organise seminars with professional fighters which are awesome. There is also chances to compete aswell. So I would definitely recommend this Muay Thai gym.

Originally known as Kuk Sool Won of Lancaster, and later as The John Ward School of Korean Martial Arts, our academy now boasts around 100 students aged from just 6 years old to a number of “sixty something” adults. School owner, John Ward has been training in the Korean Martial Arts for almost 30 years and has been a full-time instructor for over 20 years. His business partner, Angela Prince has been training with Master John since shortly after the school was opened in 2003, and is currently the only 5h Dahn student, as well as being a senior instructor and partner in the school.

My daughter has been attending the classes for the past 2-3 years and has progressed nicely. I love the fact that they encourage everyone to take part in competitions regardless to the belt colour or abilities. And I love flexibility so if you can’t make it to your lesson you can go on an alternative days but because of that sometimes there are quite a few students turning up in one day which makes teaching/practising a bit difficult.
Our eldest son attended this school for over 3 years. Initially he was very shy and lacked self confidence. After a matter of weeks of martial arts training with John Ward, there was a very noticeable change. He became very keen to learn more and his confidence grew immensely.
I take my 2 boys (6 and 8 years old) here every week. their progression is really good. They have goals and most important they can achieve the goals with John and Angela.
