What We Offer:

Throughout my life I have owned nervous and reactive dogs but it was my current dog, Mylo Anubis who set me on my path to becoming a dog specialist. He was like a wild beast when I rescued him and I was determined to understand and train him. Like many owners, I made mistakes along the way but today Mylo is a much calmer and happy dog and our bond is so strong it amazes me. Through training Mylo I was saved, he made me realise my dream of working with dogs. I quit my job as a teacher and have never looked back. We are currently fundraising for Animal Rescue Cumbria, who helped one of our dogs Belle to get healthy and rehomed.

I can’t put into writing how great these guys are. They always worked around our schedule no matter how last minute. They took amazing care of our German shepherd despite her million allergies, and she always had an amazing time.
My 9 month old puppy went on a quest walk and absolutely loved it! I really liked that Elise came to meet us at home in advance too and I’m looking forward to the upcoming training course. Highly recommended.
Our working cocker spaniel has loved her weekly walks with canine company. Its great to see the video at the end of the day and see her having the best time! They have been great in their communication with me and I fully trust them with my dog. They really care about and know the dogs they look after. I would 100% go to them for any advice as well, they really know their stuff.

First of all, I love animals, they have long been my passion. I have studied Equine Science to degree level, owned, bred and trained horses whilst also having the opportunity to work on an International Event Yard. I own and walk dogs, as well as owning and caring for cats and other small pets. I enjoyed a career managing holiday resorts in the Alps and the UK ensuring clients found the accommodation and service to be of the highest standard. Additionally, I have spent time in Veterinary Surgeries in the US and the UK as well as being Canine First Aid trained. Whether it’s a trot around the block or a good old ramble up a hill or dale. Nicola is an excellent dog walker and home boarder. Our dog Fudge loves her and is so excited when she comes to take her for a walk. When we go away we know Fudge is well looked after which gives us peace of mind. We are sent videos and photos when we are away which is lovely to have. I would highly recommend Aunty Nic to any dog owner.
I have a lovely, rather old Spanish rescue dog that doesn’t like me going anywhere without her. The last thing I wanted was to put her back into a kennel environment when we go away. I am so glad I found Aunty Nic! She is the answer to all our worries! Nicola is a thoroughly professional and reliable animal carer who takes our dog on amazing walks all about the place and welcomes her into her home as part of the pack
Bloody brilliant. I have a sighthound and he wouldn’t cope in generic kennels so when I found out Nicola did home boarding I knew she’d know how to handle my boy as she has Sighthounds herself. I love seeing the videos and pictures she sends me of my lad having fun with her hounds and others and I know he’s in safe hands.

I established Doggy Tired in 2014 after working for over 20 years as a Primary School Teacher and Learning Mentor. As a Learning mentor, I helped set up a programme called “Paws in the Classroom” where animals were used to support children express and deal with difficult emotions. Many people tell me that I have the best job in the world, I do, but along with this job comes huge responsibility. I have only joined the Doggy Tired family recently but feel like I’ve know Ann for ages she is such a lovely woman who absolutely loves her job. My Cornelius loves it there , he gets to mix with other dogs which is very important, and gets lots of fresh air and exercise on the field, with the many obstacles there to climb. jump, splash in. He comes back a very happy doggy, he actually cries when Ann leaves. 5 * because the service they provide is excellent.
I have rated Doggy Tired outstanding because my own dog Charlie gets very excited when Ann picks him up 3 times a week.On return he is happy & tired.
Ann from Doggy Tired has now started taking care of our new puppy ‘Henry’ He greets her like he’s known her all his life (well all 4 months of it!) and comes back from his walk clean and looking very happy. I think Ann is a true dog whisperer and would recommend her to anyone.
